Dipalma's was first established in 1988 in Hawthorn, where it was one of the first restaurants in Melbourne to serve wood fired pizzas and has earned its reputation on them.

Moving to 686-684 High Street East Kew in 2000 to a newly renovated premises, the restaurant became busier and better than ever.

This inspired John Dipalma to return to Hawthorn and open a second restaurant at 779 Glenferrie Road Hawthorn, where Dipalma's is now serving more people than ever.

John Dipalma puts Dipalma's local icon status down to variety. "Our success is due to the fact that we can cater for a broad spectrum, from families to singles, older folks or that corporate lunch or dinner."
